The Road to 1 Million Trees - Spring 2023 Itinerary
With April’s arrival comes the anticipation that in just a few short weeks our team will be launching our spring planting operations!
This year is particularly exciting as we’ll be hitting some impressive milestones and debuting some new next-level tech. To hear all about it and for details on the sites, keep reading!
From British Columbia to Alberta, our team will be tackling post-wildfire landscapes in an effort to plant a record-breaking one million+ trees this season alone.
Beginning our journey in interior BC at the site of the 2021 White Rock Lake wildfire, our team will then move east to Nordegg, Alberta, where we’re planting 39 hectares of forest lost to the 2022 RWF-038 wildfire. Moving north, our team will then tackle land lost to the 2022 Bearhole Lake wildfire before arriving at the 2021 Klawli Lake wildfire site, north of Fort St. James. On the last leg of the journey, our team will reforest areas lost in the 2022 Battleship Mountain wildfire before ending their planting season east of Kelowna at the site of the 2021 Lees Lake wildfire.
Our drone fleet has had some serious upgrades over the past year.
This spring, our fleet will include some of the largest commercial drones in the world, whose increased payload capacity, combined with our upgraded payload systems, will enable our teams to operate with less downtime in between flights and increase our overall planting rate by an order of magnitude.
If you see our new trailers on the highways across Canada, be sure to give us a wave and scan our QR code!
Our team can’t wait to contribute 1 million more trees to our 1 billion tree goal. Be sure to follow us along on social media for the latest updates from the field!
